## Price

- Price: €0.005 per read, excluding VAT
- Including 21% Dutch VAT (consumers): about €0.006 per read
- Billing: prepaid credit, top up €10, €15, €50 or €100 (2,000 reads for €10)
- No contract, no minimum, no yearly document cap, no sales call
- Free credit: every new account gets €0.05 (10 reads)

## What a read is

- A read is one pass of Hydra Extract over up to 4,096 tokens of your schema plus document.
- Most invoices take 1 read.
- A longer document is split into chunks, and each chunk is a read. The schema travels with every chunk, so a leaner schema leaves more room per read.
- Windows overlap by 256 tokens, and the overlap counts toward reads. With a schema of about 500 tokens, the first read holds about 3,600 tokens of document and each further read adds about 3,300 new ones.
- Fallback is off by default. If you turn it on, each fallback call is an extra read, reported separately.
- Every response reports the reads it used.

With a schema of about 500 tokens. Typical figures, not guaranteed: the count depends on how much text a document holds and how large your schema is. Assumes about 750 tokens per page.

## Input

Tickmarks reads document text. Extract the text from a PDF with selectable text using a tool such as `pdftotext`. A scan or a photo needs OCR first. Built-in OCR is planned.
